OPC Foundation Announces Working Group for OPC Information Model development for BACnet:
The OPC Foundation would like to announce a new working group for the creation of a companion specification that describes an OPC UA information model for BACnet. This is a joint working group with BACnet Interest Group Europe e.V. and OPC Foundation.
Many vendors already provide classic OPC Servers for BACnet. In addition to the missing object oriented capabilities in classic OPC, all OPC Servers have a vendor specific representation of BACnet objects in the OPC Server address space.

OPC Foundation Announces Version 4.0 of OPC .NET extending OPC Classic:
Scottsdale, AZ September 11, 2012- OPC Foundation Announces Version 4.0 of OPC .NET: The OPC Foundation announces the update of its OPC .NET code to version 4.0. Both client and server code is available for download. The client code is available to the general public, while the server code is available to OPC member companies.

Amended and Revised Bylaws Approved by Membership:
The OPC Foundation Members have voted and approved the Amended and Revised Bylaws. Voting ended on July 20, 2012 and the new bylaws were put into effect. Those bylaws are available for review here.
OPC Foundation Announces New Board Member:
The OPC Foundation announces the appointment of Thomas Hahn, Siemens AG, to the Board of Directors. Mr. Hahn was unanimously elected by the OPC Foundation Directors to replace Reinhold Achatz, who resigned his seat after accepting a new position with ThyssenKrupp AG. Dr. Achatz, formerly of Siemens AG, was a charter member of the OPC Foundation Board, joining the organization in 1997.
